Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority has warned that several governorates across Oman will be affected by varying intensities of rain on Wednesday, with conditions ranging from low to moderate impact.
According to the National Centre for Early Warning of Hazards, areas including Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, North and South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, southern parts of Muscat, and mountainous areas of South Al Batinah are expected to experience rainfall, sometimes thundery, along with active winds.
The authority cautioned that rainfall may lead to flash floods and overflowing valleys, while winds could reach speeds between 18 and 35 knots (33–64 km/h), reducing visibility during downpours.
Scattered light to moderate rain is also expected in parts of Muscat, Musandam, Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, and Dhofar, with generally limited impact.
Residents are advised to take precautions during thunderstorms, avoid crossing valleys, stay away from low-lying areas, and refrain from going to sea during the warning period.
