Muscat: Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi has expressed deep concern over the latest developments undermining ongoing negotiations, warning that further escalation would not serve the interests of the United States or global peace.
In a post on social media platform X, Sayyid Badr said he was “dismayed” that “active and serious negotiations have yet again been undermined.”
“Neither the interests of the United States nor the cause of global peace are well served by this,” he said, adding that he prays for the innocents who will suffer as a result of the unfolding situation.
The minister also issued a direct appeal to Washington, urging it not to become further involved. “I urge the United States not to get sucked in further. This is not your war,” he wrote.
Oman has long positioned itself as a neutral mediator in regional and international conflicts, consistently advocating dialogue and diplomacy as the primary means to resolve disputes.
Sayyid Badr’s remarks underscore Muscat’s concern over rising tensions and its call for restraint to prevent further instability.
