Muscat: Muscat Governorate and Muscat Municipality have launched a public awareness campaign titled "Shai Al-Karak - Its Taste is in its Details" to elevate health, hygiene, and environmental standards across karak tea establishments in the capital.
The initiative instructs food handlers and shop workers to maintain strict sanitation protocols, store dairy and ingredients in dedicated temperature-controlled containers, use quality ingredients, and adhere to prescribed uniform and hygiene standards.
As part of the drive, consumers are urged to patronize only licensed establishments that comply with municipal health regulations and report non-compliant practices via the municipality's toll-free hotline (1111). Additionally, the campaign encourages the public to use reusable cups to reduce paper waste, supporting broader municipal sustainability goals.
The initiative forms part of Muscat Municipality's continuous inspection and regulatory efforts to safeguard public health and ensure compliance across food service businesses.
