Muscat: Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, today received at his office Carl Skau, Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the United Nations World Food Programme.
The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the World Food Programme and ways to support international efforts aimed at responding to humanitarian needs and enhancing food security, amid the challenges facing the delivery of aid to those affected by conflicts and crises.
The two sides exchanged views on developments in the humanitarian situation at the regional and international levels and the importance of intensifying coordination to ensure the safe and sustainable delivery of food aid to those who deserve it.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Qatabi, Head of the International Organizations Department at the Foreign Ministry.
