Ministry of Labour achieves 83% response rate to proposals submitted via 'Tajawob' platform

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour achieved 83% response rate to proposals submitted via the “Tajawob” platform during the second half of 2026, receiving 154 proposals and responding to 128, as part of its efforts to enhance beneficiary participation in developing government services and improving institutional performance.

According to an analytical report prepared by the Department of Institutional Excellence at the Ministry, the proposals covered diverse topics reflecting beneficiaries’ needs. Employment and jobseekers topped the list with 76 proposals, followed by labour and labour complaints with 25 proposals, promotions and salaries with 15, training and qualification with eight, and restructuring with five, while the remaining proposals covered empowerment, rights of persons with disabilities, retirement and other topics.

Samira bint Said Al-Siyabiyah, Director of the Department of Institutional Excellence at the Ministry of Labour, said the results embody the Ministry’s keenness to establish an institutional approach based on effective communication with beneficiaries, treating their proposals as an important input for continuous development and improvement.

She explained that proposals received via “Tajawob” are referred to the competent organizational divisions for study and evaluation to determine their applicability, ensuring they are handled according to their nature and field.

Al-Siyabiyah noted that employment topics accounted for the largest share, with key demands focused on increasing employment opportunities and creating new vacancies, expanding Omanization across professions and sectors, reviewing age requirements in job advertisements, simplifying application and testing procedures, distributing test centers across governorates, and enhancing training and support programs for jobseekers.

Proposals also included boosting employment of Omanis in sectors such as commercial centres, airports, private hospitals, exchange and travel offices, as well as procurement, accounting, customer service and delivery jobs.

Regarding promotions, salaries and job systems, proposals addressed reviewing promotion, salary and allowance systems, addressing disparities in salaries and entitlements, reviewing employment conditions for employees with disabilities, and studying topics such as functional retirement, early retirement, reducing working hours and applying flexible work.

Proposals related to restructuring focused on developing system features and ease of use, enhancing transparency in evaluation, developing mechanisms for reviewing results, and linking individual goals to job descriptions.

She stressed that the analytical report is an important tool for monitoring interaction with proposals, analyzing their content, identifying the most frequent topics, following up on actions taken, and measuring the level of responsiveness by the concerned divisions.

Al-Siyabiyah added that proposals related to developing services and procedures focused on organizing and simplifying transactions, reviewing some fees and fines, raising transparency, accelerating e-services, and developing procedures for domestic workers and permits.

She emphasized that turning proposals into practical improvement opportunities requires integration of efforts between various organizational divisions, through studying ideas, assessing their feasibility, determining appropriate actions, and following up on implementation and measuring their impact on service quality.

The Director called on beneficiaries to continue interacting with the “Tajawob” platform and submitting their ideas, developmental proposals and observations, noting that their participation is a key element in supporting the Ministry’s efforts towards continuous improvement.

These efforts come within the Ministry of Labour’s drive to develop the government services system, promote a culture of institutional excellence, and leverage data analysis and beneficiary feedback to determine development priorities. ‎
