NCSI conducts Consumer Confidence Survey for 2026 3rd quarter

Muscat: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) is conducting the 51st edition of the Consumer Confidence Survey for the 3rd quarter of 2026, a 4-day event that runs from 27 to 30 September. The survey aims to measure Omani citizens' impression about current economic conditions. It seeks to explore the consumers’ expectations towards envisaged future economic developments.

The Consumer Confidence Survey is a key statistical tool used by the NCSI to monitor public opinion and attitudes toward various economic factors, including price levels, employment opportunities, cost of living, economic policies, spending and consumption capacity. It assesses optimism vis-à-vis improvement in economic conditions over the coming twelve months.

The survey targets at least 1,500 Omani citizens aged 18 years and beyond. A representative sample is usually used to ensure balanced geographic representation, as well as the segments of gender, age groups and educational, thereby ensuring that the results accurately reflect public trends.
