FSA unveils executive regulations for Securities Law to boost Oman's capital market

Muscat : The Financial Services Authority (FSA) presented the key features of the executive regulations for the Securities Law. These regulations focus on facilitating the economic utilization of national wealth and assets, and providing protection and an enabling investment environment for investors.

His Excellency the CEO of the FSA stated: “The Securities Law and its executive regulations aim to create a more efficient and competitive investment environment, attracting both local and foreign capital, and providing financing alternatives that support the national economy and contribute to achieving the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.”

His Excellency highlighted that the new regulations serve as a foundational pillar for attracting local and foreign investment by introducing innovative financial products and empowering investment banking institutions. Notably, the executive framework expands the scope of collective investment funds to encompass eleven distinct categories, positioning them as primary vehicles for asset growth and project financing across the Sultanate of Oman.
