Medical City for Military, Security Services celebrates World Patient Safety Day

Muscat— The Medical City for Military and Security Services today celebrated the World Patient Safety Day, which falls on 17 September of every year.

This year's celebration was held under the theme "Safe Lifelong Care for Non-Communicable Diseases." The event was held under the auspices of Eng. Udi Hilal Al Maawali, Head of the Medical City for Military and Security Services.

The celebration, held at the Medical City for Military and Security Services Hospital - Muscat, included a speech delivered by the Director of Internal Audit and Quality Control, in which he emphasized that the responsibilities of healthcare work consist of preserving human life and making the treatment journey safer at every stage, and that patient safety must be an inherent focus.

A number of specialists delivered lectures addressing patient safety, prevention of medication and surgical errors and healthcare-associated infections, early detection of non-communicable diseases and risk factor management, medication safety, and safe transitions between stages of care, alongside enhancing health awareness and effective communication.

The event concluded with an accompanying exhibition featuring a collection of research and studies in this field.
