876,117 students begin new academic year across Oman

Muscat: A total of 876,117 students began the new 2026/2027 academic year today at 1,298 schools across the educational directorates in the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

The total includes 440,899 male students and 435,218 female students.

The Minister of Education affirmed that integrating the education and higher education systems under one ministry reflects a national vision to build an integrated educational system that connects the educational pathway from pre-school education through higher education.
