Muscat: The Environment Protection Team is continuing its efforts to curb environmental violations during the Dhofar Khareef season, in cooperation with Dhofar Municipality and the Royal Oman Police.

As part of the initiative, the team has intensified field monitoring and follow-up operations to promote environmental compliance and protect natural areas amid the increased visitor activity during the season.

According to the latest figures issued by the Environment Authority, the initiative recorded 238 reports, while 3,914 vehicles were removed from green areas in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The campaign also resulted in the closure of 250 locations, while 156 reports were received concerning overflowing waste containers. In addition, 89 abandoned vehicles were identified and addressed as part of efforts to maintain the cleanliness and environmental appearance of the governorate.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to protect Dhofar’s natural environment during the Khareef season, when the governorate attracts large numbers of visitors and experiences increased recreational and outdoor activities.

The Environment Authority, in cooperation with Dhofar Municipality and the Royal Oman Police, continues to monitor public areas and respond to environmental violations, with the aim of preserving green spaces, preventing harmful practices and ensuring a sustainable and environmentally responsible Khareef season.
