Exploration Camp activities for school students continue in Muscat

Muscat: The activities of the Exploration Camp for school students continued on Wednesday in Muscat Governorate. The camp is organised by the Ministry of Education in strategic partnership with OQ Exploration and Production and targets 110 students in grades 9–11 from the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah and North Al Sharqiyah.

The camp, which runs until the 20th of this month, aims to prepare a generation capable of keeping pace with the requirements of the knowledge economy and sustainability, invest in human capital, and develop the future skills of Omani youth through an intensive training programme that integrates theoretical and applied aspects in the fields of energy, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship.

The camp focuses on equipping participants with an advanced understanding of conventional and renewable energy systems, exploring AI applications within the sector, and honing design thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally, it enables students to develop innovative entrepreneurial projects that address real-world challenges in the energy sector.

The programme includes specialised tracks and interactive activities to translate ideas into viable projects through the development of sustainable business models, in alignment with national directions for economic diversification and innovation promotion. It also provides students with the opportunity to interact directly with experts and specialists to learn about future career pathways and enhance their readiness for the labour market.

This joint initiative falls within the framework of supporting sustainable development goals and the green economy, empowering Omani youth to leverage modern technologies and present innovative solutions that contribute to the preservation of natural resources and the advancement of the future of the energy sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
