US Embassy in Muscat hosts reception marking 250th anniversary of American independence

Muscat: The Embassy of the United States of America in Muscat on Wednesday hosted a reception to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence and to celebrate the historic and future partnership between the United States and the Sultanate of Oman.

Ana Escrogima, US Ambassador accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, affirmed in her address that the partnership between the United States and the Sultanate of Oman constitutes an integral part of their shared history. She highlighted the celebration of the fruitful cooperation built over decades, reinforced by strong and mutually beneficial ties, which has contributed to enhancing security and prosperity in the region and across the globe.

The reception, held at the Diplomatic Club, showcased key milestones in the bilateral relations between the two friendly nations and featured a short film entitled "From the Sea to the Stars," which illuminated the evolution of US-Omani relations.

The event also included a companion exhibition titled "The Founders," which recounts the story of America's independence and traces the development of bilateral relations with the Sultanate of Oman.

The reception was attended by a number of ministers, undersecretaries, dignitaries and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, along with several officials from the Foreign Ministry and the private sector.
