
Muscat: The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat organised a Peace Walk & Beach Cleaning event to celebrate International Everest Day on 29 May 2026, at the Qurum beach in Muscat.
The walk was organised along the Qurum beach starting from the backside of W Hotel from 05:00am.
Representatives from Non-Resident Nepali Social Club/Nepali organisations, interested Nepali and foreign friends participated in the event. As a part of environmental awareness participants actively engaged in beach cleaning.
While speaking after the programme, Ambassador Dornath Aryal expressed gratitude to the participants for active participation. He highlighted the importance of such events in bringing the diaspora together and building up the image of Nepali community in Oman.
The Everest Day coincided with Republic Day of Nepal this year. A special ceremony was also organized at the the Embassy of Nepal, Muscat to mark the Republic Day of Nepal. During the ceremony, Ambassador Aryal hoisted the National Flag of Nepal.
Aryal formally inaugurated Embassy’s e-Museum by pressing a bottom of the Kiosk Machine. Members of the Nepali community attired in national and traditional dresses attended the events.
Ambassador Aryal highlighted the importance and historical aspects of Republic Day. He underscored the basic features of the constitution and republican system. While speaking about e-Museum Ambassador Aryal described why he felt the need to establish the e-Museum at the Embassy and hoped that this step will contribute in consolidating the bilateral relations and collecting historical documents and facts.
He requested the participants to go through the documents available in the e-Museum and provide their valuable feedback.
Bishesh Kumar Sah, First Secretary and convenor of e-Museum Establishment Committee highlighted the activities undertaken to collect the information and documents to establish the Museum. He also informed that e-Museum will be available at the Embassy’s website soon.
