ROP clarifies status of new traffic control system

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has clarified that a post circulating on social media regarding the activation of a new traffic control system did not originate from the police.

The ROP said the system remains in the experimental phase and has not yet been officially activated, noting that work related to its implementation is still under way.

The system is intended to promote compliance with traffic safety regulations and help curb improper driving behaviours and violations committed by motorists.

The ROP urged the public to rely on its official channels and sources for accurate information and to avoid sharing or relying on unverified posts circulating on social media.
