Campaign held to protect natural ecosystems in Mirbat

Mirbat: The Directorate General of Environment in the Governorate of Dhofar is conducting an environment conservation campaign to remove waste in the Hayur area in Jabal Samhan, the Wilayat of Mirbat.

The campaign, which runs until 27 May 2026, forms part of efforts to protect ecosystems and preserve the natural resources of the site.

The campaign is being implemented in cooperation with Dhofar Municipality in the Wilayat of Mirbat, Dhofar Tourism and Investment Company and “Explore Salalah” team, in addition to a number of climbers and volunteers.

The campaign embodies community partnership in implementing environmental initiatives in Dhofar Governorate.

The campaign focuses on removing waste and environmental distortions from mountainous sites, including Jabal Samhan. During the first day of the campaign, approximately one ton of plastic and solid waste was removed.
