Muscat: The Oman Authority for Quality Assurance of Education held a media briefing to review the latest developments in the education quality assurance system, aligning with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. Her Excellency Dr. Jokha Al-Shakily, Chairperson of the Authority, stated that institutional accreditation results now include 22 accredited higher education institutions, with three institutions receiving conditional accreditation and two placed under observation. Additionally, several academic programs were accredited as part of ongoing program accreditation activities.

The Authority’s national role involves establishing quality assurance systems, evaluating school performance, and overseeing the National Qualifications Framework. Over the past year, the Authority completed the evaluation of 100 public and private schools and published 58 performance reports. Dr. Al-Shakily also highlighted the development of academic accreditation systems and the implementation of both institutional and program-specific accreditation processes.

Regarding the National Qualifications Framework, 21 academic and professional qualifications have been included and aligned.
