
Al Buraimi: Activities of Al Buraimi Week for Women’s and Children’s Health commenced today in Al Buraimi Governorate.
Organised by the Directorate General of Health Services in Al Buraimi under the theme “Together We Grow Healthier,” the week features a comprehensive range of events and activities focused on women’s and children’s health. The event was inaugurated under the patronage of Sayyid Dr. Hamad Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi.
The event included a seminar, which saw broad participation from medical and allied health professionals representing various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, with over 200 attendees. Presentations were delivered by specialists from a number of hospitals across the Sultanate of Oman.
The seminar aimed to enhance health awareness among women and mothers regarding the importance of disease prevention and early detection, to empower them by providing essential knowledge and skills, and to raise awareness of maternal and child mental health as well as the significance of family and social support.
Additional objectives included promoting child health from pregnancy through early childhood, fostering a healthy environment for children, and building community partnerships between health institutions and relevant stakeholders to highlight the role of society in supporting women’s and children’s health as a cornerstone of a sustainable, healthy community.
The week’s activities will include Al Buraimi Symposium on Women’s and Children’s Health, the Women’s and Children’s Health Event, and Al Buraimi Conference on Women’s Health. Collectively, these activities target all segments of society, with particular focus on women and children, as well as healthcare professionals working in health institutions across Al Buraimi Governorate and specialists in this field.
