
Muscat: Activities and events of the 38th GCC Traffic Week started today across various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman under the slogan "Cross Safely."
The initiative aims to spread traffic awareness and culture among road users as part of the collective efforts of GCC member states to reduce traffic accidents and their associated human and material losses.
In Muscat Governorate, the inauguration of the traffic awareness exhibition at the "Mall of Oman" in the Wilayat of Bawshar was held under the auspices of Eng. Ahmed Said Al Amri, Chairman of Muscat Municipality.
The opening was attended by several officers of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) and representatives from relevant government and private sector entities.
The chief guest of the occasion and the attendees toured the exhibition, where they were briefed on the contents, corners, and sections of the event. They also reviewed the efforts exerted by the Royal Oman Police and participating entities in the field of traffic safety. At the conclusion of the tour, the patron of the event felicitated the official sponsors of the exhibition.
A number of government and private institutions are participating in the exhibition, which features interactive screens, awareness brochures, and models of applications used in traffic safety to focus on traffic statistics and highlight the awareness efforts of Traffic Safety Institutes in all governorates.
