Muscat: Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi and António Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations held a phone call this evening during which they reviewed regional and international developments.
The call highlighted the importance of intensifying international efforts to restore the security, safety and freedom of maritime navigation, and to ensure the smooth flow of global trade in line with international law.
It also underlined the need for all parties to show the necessary flexibility to reach practical solutions for resolving differences and to prioritise shared interests.
Commenting later on the X social media platform Sayyid Badr described the call with the UN Secretary General as “important”.
“I am grateful for his support for Oman’s perspective on a number of fronts and we value our partnership with UN organisations including the International Maritime Organisation,” he added.
