Oman,  Somalia review prospects for cooperation in several sectors

Muscat :The Sultanate of Oman and the Federal Republic of Somalia are reviewing in Muscat prospects for cooperation and investment opportunities in vital sectors, including energy, infrastructure, logistics, food security, and information technology.

His Excellency Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority, received today at his office His Excellency Abdul Salam Abdi Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and his accompanying delegation, who are currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman.

During the meeting, they reviewed existing areas of cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Federal Republic of Somalia and discussed opportunities to develop them in line with the priorities of both countries. They also discussed a number of promising investment opportunities in vital sectors of mutual interest, including energy, infrastructure, logistics, food security, and information technology.

The two sides also addressed ways to enhance economic and investment partnerships and activate the role of the public and private sectors in supporting cooperation initiatives, thereby contributing to achieving sustainable development and opening new horizons for economic integration between the two countries.

The meeting emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and exchanging expertise to strengthen bilateral relations and support common interests.
