Drone attack targets power and desalination plants in Kuwait

Kuwait— The Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced that two power generation and water desalination plants were targeted by drones, causing significant material damage and forcing the shutdown of two electricity generation units, with no reported human casualties.

According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the ministry’s spokesperson, Fatima Jawhar Hayat, stated that technical and emergency teams have been deployed in line with approved emergency response plans, in coordination with relevant authorities, to safeguard the stability of electricity and water systems.

She affirmed that all technical teams are working around the clock to ensure the continuity of essential services, emphasizing that maintaining the reliability of power and water supply remains a top priority
