Saudi Arabia intercepts and destroys dozens of drones that entered its airspace

Riyadh – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced today that its air defense systems intercepted dozens of drones that entered its airspace.

A spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense said on the X platform, in separate statements, that 12 drones, followed by 9 drones, and later 7 drones, entered Saudi airspace and were successfully intercepted and destroyed.

Saudi Arabia has been subjected to several drone attacks in recent days. Authorities confirmed that a number of drones passed through the region this week heading towards vital facilities in the Kingdom, but air defense systems managed to neutralize them before they reached their targets.

The incidents come amid heightened regional tensions and increased security measures to protect critical infrastructure across the Kingdom.
