Saudi Arabia intercepts ballistic mssiles and drones

Riyadh:  The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced today that its air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed several ballistic missiles and drones that targeted the Kingdom’s airspace and territory.

The official spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Turki Al‑Maliki, stated that three ballistic missiles launched toward Prince Sultan Air Base, southeast of Al‑Kharj city, were intercepted and destroyed. He added that a cruise missile east of Al‑Kharj Governorate was also intercepted and destroyed.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the spokesman confirmed that a drone was intercepted and destroyed northeast of Riyadh. In addition, three drones were intercepted and destroyed east of the Riyadh region, while another drone was intercepted and destroyed in the Eastern Province.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense affirmed that the Kingdom’s air defense systems remain fully prepared to deal with any threats targeting the country’s security and stability.
