New OMR 230 Million integrated tourism complex to transform Al Qurm area

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism signed an agreement today with Sorouh Al Qurm Real Estate Company for the development of an integrated tourism complex in the Al Qurm area of ​​the Wilayat of Bausher, Muscat Governorate.

 The complex will cover an area of ​​approximately 165,000 square meters and is estimated to cost around OMR 230 million .

The agreement stipulates that the project will be implemented in phases over 15 years. It will include the construction of two four-star hotels with a capacity exceeding 400 hotel units, in addition to comprehensive recreational facilities. These facilities will include an indoor arcade featuring laser tag, trampolines, rock climbing, and various sports fields, as well as retail outlets and freehold residential units.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry by His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, and on behalf of Sorouh Al Qurm Real Estate Company by Engineer Khalid Khudair Mishaan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Argan International Real Estate Company and authorized signatory for Sorouh Al Qurm Real Estate Company.

 The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Argan International Real Estate Company, and the authorised signatory for Sorouh Al Qurm Real Estate Company, explained that this project is distinguished by its prime location in Muscat. 

He indicated that the project will focus on tourism, while also taking into account the reduction of carbon emissions and the creation of numerous green spaces.

For his part, Dr. Rashid bin Saleh Al Hinai, Director General of Planning at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, pointed out that this project is one of the projects that support investment in the tourism sector and adds value to the Muscat Governorate as an integrated tourism complex. 

He noted that upon completion, the project will increase the number of hotel rooms in the Muscat Governorate and enhance job opportunities for Omanis.

 Al Hinai added that the project allows freehold ownership for both Omanis and expats.

The signing of this agreement confirms the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism's commitment to developing the infrastructure of the tourism sector, enhancing the attractiveness of tourist destinations, supporting local content, and creating sustainable job opportunities, thus contributing to achieving the objectives of the tourism sector and strengthening its contribution to the national economy.
