Al Musanah--- The Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning in South Al Batinah Governorate recently floated 15 new investment opportunities in the sectors of agriculture and food security.
The initiative, made via "Tatweer" platform, was in pursuance of efforts to support the food security system and contribute to economic activity in the governorate.
The investment opportunities include allocating land for establishing projects in citrus and lemon cultivation, agricultural nurseries and fish farming.The envisaged projects, which leverage the natural and environmental advantages of South Al Batinah Governorate, are set to boost local production and augment the efficiency of the agricultural sector.
The initiative, which stems from the National Strategy for the South Al Batinah Governorate, aims to achieve sustainable economic and social development in line with Oman Vision 2040.
It constitutes part of a decentralization programme that seeks to attract quality projects, support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and enhance the role of the private sector in driving economic development of the governorate.
