
Muscat; The total number of vehicles registered in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 5.6 percent by the end of December 2025, reaching 1,851,469 vehicles, compared to December 2024.
According to data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), private vehicles accounted for the largest share of registered vehicles in the Sultanate, representing 79.2 percent, with a total of 1,465,455 vehicles.
Commercial vehicles followed at 14.8 percent, numbering 273,508 vehicles, while rental vehicles accounted for 2.4 percent, or 44,606 vehicles. The remaining percentage was distributed among taxis, government vehicles and other categories.
The statistics also showed that vehicles weighing less than three tonnes constituted the majority of registered vehicles, accounting for 90.7 percent of the total, or 1,679,463 vehicles.
