Cultural exhibitions at Muscat Nights offer a window of Omani identity

Muscat: The cultural exhibitions featured within the cultural program of Muscat Nights 2026 at Oman Automobile Association offer an interactive cultural experience. These exhibitions highlight various aspects of Omani identity by utilizing modern technologies to present content in innovative ways that blend knowledge with entertainment.

The exhibition comprises a collection of pavilions and interactive cultural experiences, including the Omani Personalities Pavilion. This pavilion presents visual displays documenting the achievements and cultural contributions of Omani figures through a storytelling approach supported by 3D display technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It also features interactive games that allow visitors to learn about these personalities via Virtual Reality (VR).

Further, the Visual Arts Pavilion celebrates the arts with an exhibition of artistic works, Arabic calligraphy experiences, live painting sessions in front of the public, and interactive installation art games based on the paintings of Omani artists.

Meanwhile, the Oman Encyclopedia Pavilion showcases cognitive content through educational electronic games inspired by Oman Encyclopedia for Youth. It features visual presentations including infographics and short films that simulate features of Omani cultural identity, in addition to displays of Omani heritage vocabulary using VR technology.

Fatima Khalifa Al Hosni, Director of Oman Encyclopedia Department at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, stated that Oman Encyclopedia pavilion consists of six main sections. Foremost among these is the "Oman Encyclopedia and Oman Encyclopedia for Youth" corner, which provides information in a simplified scientific manner suitable for the younger generation, offering an interactive environment that fosters national spirit and consolidates values of loyalty and belonging.

She added that the "Visual Presentations" corner showcases a series of films covering various topics found in Oman Encyclopedia. Meanwhile, the "Educational Electronic Games" corner has seen significant interaction from children, featuring games such as "Siraj Oman," which consists of interactive puzzles about immortal Omani figures, their achievements, and the diverse flora and fauna of Oman. She further explained that the "Digital Infographic" corner aims to facilitate the delivery of information to visitors and attract them to explore the encyclopedia's content through a modern visual style.

Rehab Harib Al Saadi, Supervisor of Cultural Events at Muscat Nights 2026 festival, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the cultural exhibitions provide a cognitive and cultural space that introduces visitors to the components of Omani history. She noted that these events offer a dimension beyond mere entertainment, building cultural awareness and creating a balance between visual enjoyment and the delivery of a cultural message. The high turnout of families reflects their keenness for their children to attend these interactive educational atmospheres to enjoy a cultural experience that is both fun and easy to understand.
