Muscat: A national workshop titled "The Participatory Approach in Health Service Planning" was held today in Muscat Governorate.
Organized by the Ministry of Health, the event was held under the auspices of Eng. Masoud Said Al Hashimi, Governor of South Al Batinah, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Salim Al Mandhari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Planning and Regulation.
The workshop saw the participation of 70 individuals, including Directors General and their representatives from the offices of the Governors, as well as several department directors and heads of planning sections from the Health Planning and Regulation departments across various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
A key highlight of the event was the inauguration of the National Guide for Health Service Planning Methodology. This guide marks the beginning of a new phase of organized institutional work, requiring a commitment to the methodologies and standards outlined within it.
It focuses on building national capacities in analysis, planning, and evaluation, while strengthening health information systems to ensure this theoretical framework translates into a tangible impact on human health and well-being.
The national workshop aimed to foster dialogue and the exchange of expertise to deepen a shared understanding of health service planning methodology. It also sought to clarify implementation mechanisms and review roles and responsibilities to achieve consistent and effective planning practices across all governorates of Oman.
