
Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, convened an official session of talks at Al Barakah Palace today.
The high-level discussions focused on reviewing the extensive framework of bilateral cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India. The talks explored strategic avenues to expand this partnership and unlock new investment frontiers, with particular emphasis on the sectors of energy, technology, logistics, food security, manufacturing and agricultural production. Enhancing cultural and educational exchanges was also affirmed as a key priority. This collaborative approach is designed to advance the mutual strategic interests and long-term aspirations of both countries.
The meeting also featured a substantive exchange of views on the most pressing regional and international developments.
The official session of talks was attended from the Omani side by Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu'amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Pankaj Khimji, Advisor for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Issa bin Saleh Al Shaibani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of India.
Attending from the Indian side were Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs, Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Ajit Doval, National Security Advisor, Godavarthi Venkata Srinivas, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Sultanate of Oman and senior officials from the Indian government.
