Muscat: Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Oman has taken legal action against several companies found to be selling unapproved telecommunications equipment that contributes to the establishment of unauthorised networks.
This enforcement comes as part of TRA’s ongoing efforts to protect consumer interests, safeguard data privacy, and ensure the quality of telecom services across the Sultanate. The authority emphasized that the use of non-certified devices poses risks to network integrity and violates national regulations.
TRA reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring the market and holding violators accountable, urging all entities to comply with approved standards and licensing requirements to maintain a secure and reliable communications environment.
