
Algiers — The Sultanate of Oman will participate in the International Cultural Festival of Desert Theatre in Adrar, southern Algeria, to be held during 1-7 December.
The Omani participation features the play "The Ship is Sinking" by writer and director Osama Zayed Al Shaqsi, competing in the official competition alongside performances from China, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Syria and Tunisia.
This edition of the festival is held under the slogan "Theater is Resistance," with South Africa as the guest of honor, participating with a theatrical performance and a special seminar. Other countries, including Mauritania, Tunisia, North Macedonia, Spain, Egypt, Iraq, Germany, Lebanon, Denmark, Brazil, and Algeria will be also participating with theatrical performances.
Several theatrical personalities will be facilitated during the festival, including Talib Al Balushi from the Sultanate of Oman and Dr. Jabbar Juda from Iraq, in addition to a group of artists from Algeria and Romania.
