Muscat: Nama Water Services reviewed the water and sewage network projects being implementing in the Wilayat of Bausher in the Governorate of Muscat during a community meeting at the office of the Wali of Bausher.

The most prominent of these are 7 projects with a total cost of OMR123 million, which include main and branch lines for sewage networks with lengths of 311 kilometres, including 34 kilometres for potable water networks, in addition to other components and facilities that complement the project.

It also includes the project to establish sewage networks in the heights of Bausher at a cost of OMR17.5 million, and it is expected that 60,000 people will benefit from it, as it is scheduled to be completed in 2028 with an implementation period of four years.

The project includes sewage networks with a length of 68 kilometres, 1,100 inspection chambers, and 6,850 household connections.

The project also includes the construction of sewage networks in South Al-Aziaba  at a cost of OMR5.6 million, and the number of beneficiaries is 13,000 people.

The project is expected to be completed in 2027 with an implementation period of three years, and includes sewage networks with a length of 49 kilometres, 1,714 inspection chambers, and 722 household connections.

The first phase of the sewage network rehabilitation project in the North Al-Ghubra  and North Al-Azaiba  areas, costing OMR24 million, is also underway.

 The project was awarded at the end of June and is scheduled for completion in 2028, with a four-year implementation period. It includes the construction of a 4-kilometre main sewage line, the replacement of 812 inspection chambers, the rehabilitation of a similar length of the existing main line, and the replacement of 80 deep inspection chambers.

Nama Water Services is currently implementing a project to construct pumping stations in Bausher and Al Ansab at a cost of OMR21 million.

The project, expected to be completed in 2028, will take four years to complete. It includes a pumping station with two 17-kilometre discharge lines and a 3.5-kilometre gravity sewer line to connect the Al Ansab and Bausher networks.

Work is also continuing on the sewage network project in Al Ansab, where the completion rate has reached 8 percent, and the number of household connections is 4,180 homes. The project is expected to be completed in 2028 with an implementation period of four years, and it includes sewage networks with a length of 75.5 kilometres, and 1,160 inspection chambers, and the cost of its implementation amounts to OMR25.7 million.

In the Al Khuwair area, two projects will be implemented: the Al Khuwair 1/17 project, costing OMR14.3 million, which includes 882 household connections and is expected to be completed in 2029 after a five-year implementation period.

This project includes a 30-kilometre sewage network, a 15-kilometre potable water network, and a 1-kilometre treated water network.

The second project, Al Khuwair 2/17, costing OMR15 million, includes 858 household connections.

It is also expected to be completed in 2029 after a five-year implementation period and includes a 30-kilometre sewage network, a 19-kilometre potable water network, and a 2.2-kilometre treated water network.
