Muscat: Dr. Gopal Mitra, Global Lead on Disability and Development at UNICEF, familiarised himself with the Sultanate of Oman's experience in supporting and empowering persons with disabilities and enhancing systems and services for them, during his current visit to the country.
The UN official met during his visit with Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, Dr. Abdullah Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, and a number of representatives from government entities, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
The discussions focused on ways to develop joint programmes in line with the priorities of Oman Vision 2040.
