ROP clarifies video circulating about illegal entry into Oman

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has clarified that a video circulating on social media purportedly showing a number of people entering the Sultanate of Oman illegally is old and dates back to 2024.

In a statement, the ROP said it had followed up on the video being circulated across social media platforms and confirmed that the necessary legal procedures had been taken at the time the incident occurred.

The police urged members of the public to verify the accuracy of information before sharing or circulating videos and misleading reports.

The ROP also called on the public to obtain news and information from official sources.
