Muscat: Ibri Industrial City, affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), recorded total investments of approximately OMR25 million by the end of the first half of 2026. The number of the signed investment contracts in the city has reached 17, covering more than 250,000 sqm for projects spanning key sectors, including oil and gas, food, manufacturing industries and light industries.
Salah bin Nasser Al Alawi, Director General of Ibri Industrial City, stated that Madayn continues to strengthen the city’s investment climate by attracting quality investments and working closely with relevant government bodies to unlock the economic potential of Al Dhahirah Governorate.
“As part of these efforts, 11 investment opportunities in food manufacturing and organic fertiliser production have been launched through the Tharawat platform in cooperation with the Directorate General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Dhahirah Governorate,” Al Alawi said, adding: “These opportunities have also been featured on the Tatweer platform in collaboration with the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning to expand their reach, attract investors, encourage value-added projects, create job opportunities, and contribute to the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.”
It is worthwhile to mention that Madayn has outlined several projects for Ibri Industrial City under the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026–2030). These include the construction of a security fence, administration building, Madayn Entrepreneurial Complex in cooperation with the SMEs Development Authority, protection works for the city's service area, and a project to expand green spaces across the industrial city.
Ibri Industrial City provides an integrated investment environment that supports industrial development in Al Dhahirah Governorate in particular and the Sultanate of Oman in general. The governorate enjoys competitive advantages, particularly in marble and chrome related industries, while the presence of Ibri Industrial City creates ideal conditions for investments across the industrial, commercial, and service sectors.
Ibri Industrial City spans a total area of 10 million sqm, of which more than 2.6 million sqm has already been developed. It also enjoys a strategic location along key trade routes and in close proximity to the border crossings with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
