EU imposes anti-dumping duties on Chinese tyre imports

The European Commission has imposed anti-dumping duties ranging from 4.3% to 45.3% on imports of tyres for passenger cars, light trucks and buses from China, following an investigation that found the products were being sold in the European Union at unfairly low prices.

The investigation, launched in November 2025, concluded that dumped Chinese tyre imports had caused material injury to the EU's domestic tyre industry. As a result, the Commission approved the new tariffs to help restore fair competition and protect European manufacturers.

According to the Commission, the EU's tyre industry employs more than 80,000 people across 14 member states, making it a significant industrial sector within the bloc. The anti-dumping measures are intended to safeguard jobs and support manufacturers facing unfair pricing practices from imported products.
