Salalah: Raysut Industrial City, which operates under the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), in cooperation with Credit Oman, organised on Tuesday a workshop on the importance of credit insurance in commercial business and its role in enhancing Omani exports, with the participation of representatives from industrial companies operating in Dhofar Governorate.
The workshop aimed to introduce manufacturers and exporters to domestic and international trade guarantee tools, and to enhance awareness of insurance services that contribute to mitigating commercial risks and bolstering trust among trading partners, thereby supporting the growth of Omani exports and raising their competitiveness in foreign markets.
Haitham Abdullah Al Yaqoobi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Credit Oman, reviewed the institution's efforts in supporting economic development by providing credit insurance solutions that contribute to stimulating domestic trade and enhancing Omani exports.
The presentation addressed the prominent risks covered by Credit Oman, which include commercial risks such as non-payment for goods, buyer insolvency, or delayed payment, in addition to non-commercial risks associated with exporting, such as restrictions and legislation imposed by importing countries, political events, and economic challenges.
The workshop also reviewed the services provided by Credit Oman, including the domestic credit insurance policy for sales within the Sultanate of Oman, the export credit insurance policy for foreign markets, and the multi-buyer insurance policy. It also introduced mechanisms for entering global markets and highlighted the importance of risk management in supporting business sustainability and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises.
