Oman participates in Bahrain Smart Cities Summit

Manama: The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the ninth edition of Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2026, which commenced on Tuesday, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in the fields of innovation and smart technologies.

Throughout the two-day conference, the Sultanate of Oman is presenting five working papers addressing a range of themes related to the future of smart cities and sustainable urban development, including the role of decentralisation in achieving sustainability, the application of smart technologies in residential buildings to enhance resource efficiency and improve comfort and safety levels, the impact of urban planning and environmental sustainability projects on public health, and sustainable municipal transformation within the framework of Oman Vision 2040. Additionally, a paper on the North Al Batinah Green Initiative will be presented, focusing on environmental sustainability, afforestation and the strengthening of green infrastructure.

This participation underscores the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to adopting innovative solutions and advancing smart city concepts, thereby supporting sustainable development efforts and aligning with global trends in urban development and quality-of-life enhancement.
