Operational responsibilities of Marine Rescue Station transferred to Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority

Muscat: The operational responsibilities of the Marine Rescue Station have been transferred from the Civil Aviation Authority to the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority, as part of national efforts aimed at strengthening the emergency response system and enhancing the efficiency of rescue services.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority has confirmed its full readiness to operate the station through qualified national personnel specialized in marine search and rescue as well as emergency medical services. All necessary operational and technical procedures have been completed to ensure the continuous delivery of high‑efficiency, round‑the‑clock services.

The station's operational framework includes specialized search and rescue teams possessing the requisite expertise and training to handle various maritime incidents and missing‑person operations. It also comprises water rescue teams equipped with modern technologies and equipment enabling them to carry out their missions in diverse marine environments, alongside qualified ambulance teams capable of providing urgent medical care to the injured and transporting them in accordance with approved protocols.
