Environment Authority in North Al Batinah organises forum on protecting ecosystems

Sohar: The Environment Authority's department in North Al Batinah Governorate on Wednesday organised a forum on protecting ecosystems and promoting compliance with legal regulations governing industrial activities. The event saw the participation of academics and representatives of the industrial sector in the governorate.

The forum included a panel discussion about proposals to devise appropriate solutions for maintaining the sustainability of ecosystems.

The discussion also elaborated on means of addressing threats posed to ecosystems and streamlining industrial activities in a manner that secures transition to the use of clean energy, the reduction of carbon emissions and the prevention of illegal discharge of waste into the marine environment.

The forum was held under the auspices of Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed Al Hinai, Wali of Sohar.
