Thunderstorms and rainfall across many governorates in Oman

Muscat: Forecasts indicate the formation and influx of thunderclouds, with chances of rainfall of varying intensity, ranging from moderate to heavy. These rains may be thundery at times, with the possibility of hail and the flow of reefs and wadis, with expected rainfall amounts ranging between 30 and 100 millimeters.

Khalid Khalifa Al Jabri, a meteorologist at the Civil Aviation Authority, stated to Oman News Agency that the weather condition began gradually this morning over the governorates of Al Buraimi, A’Dhahirah, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, A’Dakhiliyah, and Al Wusta. He added that it will extend to include the governorates of Muscat, North A’Sharqiyah, Dhofar, and South A’Sharqiyah during the evening, with chances of moderate to heavy rainfall in expected amounts ranging between 20 and 50 millimeters.

He further explained that scattered rain, which may be thundery at times, is expected over the coastal areas of Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates, with amounts ranging between 5 and 20 millimeters.

He noted that forecasts for tomorrow indicate the continued influx and formation of thunderclouds with chances of moderate to heavy rainfall of varying intensity. These conditions may be thundery at times, with the potential for hail and the flow of reefs and wadis, with possible rainfall amounts ranging between 30 and 100 millimeters across the governorates of Musandam, A’Dhahirah, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, A’Dakhiliyah, Muscat, and North Al Sharqiyah.
