CPA warns against purchase of particular brand of bicycles

Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has warned people against buying Speedmax CF (R073 and R41) brand of bicycles from online sources or from outside the Sultanate of Oman.

According to the CPA, there have been reported cases where the fork steerer tube has broken or cracked, causing the cockpit assembly stem and handlebar to separate, especially after a hard impact such as hitting a deep pothole.

It can lead to a fall or serious injury, depending on the conditions and environment.
