Nouakchott: The Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania held the first session of their political consultations in Nouakchott on Monday.
The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Faisal bin Omar Al Marhoon, Head of the Arab Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry. The Mauritanian side was headed by Mohamed Hanchi El Kettab, Director General for Bilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad.
During the session, both parties reviewed existing bilateral cooperation between the two nations and discussed ways to enhance ties across economic, investment, commercial, cultural, and tourism sectors. The discussions also included an exchange of perspectives on various regional and international matters of shared interest.
The meeting was attended by Jassim bin Eid Al Saadi, Head of Oman's Mission to Mauritania, Mohamed Vall Ould Ahmed, Mauritania's Ambassador to Oman, along with several officials from both countries.
