Oman's GDP at constant prices tops OMR9.3bn

Muscat: Oman’s gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices recorded a growth of 2.1 percent to reach OMR9.36 billion in the second quarter of 2025 compared to OMR9.18 billion during the same period in 2024.

Preliminary data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that this growth is primarily attributed to a 3.8 percent increase in the value added of non-petroleum activities, which reached OMR6.86 billion by the end of the second quarter of 2025 compared to OMR6.61 billion in the same quarter of 2024.

The data further shows various level of economic activities across sectors with agriculture and fishing activities growing by 12.5 percent to OMR307.4 million by the end of the second quarter of 2025 compared to 273.3 million in the same quarter of 2024.

Industrial activities registered a modest growth of 0.2 percent, with their contribution reaching OMR1.97 billion by the end of the second quarter of 2025 compared to OMR1.96 billion during the same quarter of 2024.

Service activities grew by 4.9 percent to OMRMR4.58 billion by the end of the second quarter of 2025 compared to OMR4.37 billion during the second quarter of 2024.

Petroleum activities recorded a marginal increase of 0.5 percent, reaching OMR2.97 billion in the second quarter of 2025 compared to OMR2.96 billion during the same period in 2024.

Within the petroleum sector, Oman's crude oil production showed a slight rise of 0.9 percent, contributing OMR2.49 billion to the GDP at constant prices by the end of the second quarter of 2025 compared to OMR2.47 billion during the second quarter of 2024.

Additionally, natural gas activity decreased by 1.5 percent, with a contribution of OMR482.60 million by the end of the second quarter of 2025 compared to OMR489.90 million during the same period in 2024.
