Police arrest domestic helps for assault and robbery in North Al Sharqiyah

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police(ROP), in collaboration with the Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations, has arrested two housemaids of African nationality for a robbery in the Wilayat of Al Qabil, North Al Sharqiyah.

The two suspects are accused of assaulting a housewife with bladed weapons, restraining her, and stealing gold jewelry, cash, and her phone. The police later apprehended them in the Wilayat of Al Seeb. Three other individuals of different nationalities were also arrested for assisting the housemaids in their escape and in disposing of the stolen items.

Legal procedures are being completed against all five individuals.
